The city of Thousand Oaks, California, is the second largest in Ventura County, located in the northwestern portion of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city is home to two libraries. The main branch is the Grant R. Brimhall Library, operated by the Thousand Oaks Library System. It is 81,000 square feet in size and is the largest public library in Ventura County. It also serves nearby communities such as Westlake Village, and has more than three-hundred thousand-thousand items on circulation.
